Our Knowsley Social Inclusion employment (IPS) strand focuses on supporting our clients to access employment opportunities. You will use your knowledge of person-centred care to empower service users to recognise their employability and find work tailored to their aspirations.


Building links with referral agents you will generate referrals and be responsible for maintaining your own caseload. Working closely with Job Centre Plus, Employers and Training providers your goal will be to maximise your client’s potential and ultimately support them to secure paid employment.


  • To ensure that employment related recovery goals are identified and met using vocational profiling and MHM Support Planning and outcome tools.
  • To encourage service users to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health
  • To continuously assess risk and safety management issues for service user, staff and employers and to escalate concerns as appropriate and in line with organisational procedures
  • To empower individuals to identify and overcome obstacles to success in a achieving their self-determined goals engendering self-belief
  • To record and feedback to clients about their progress and achievements and to identify further goals which help them achieve their aspirations
  • To work with a range of partners and external agencies e.g. Jobcentre Plus and employers to ensure clients benefit from personalised and joined up support

The person

You will have experience of working in social care or employability focussed services, you will have excellent networking skills and the ability to engage and inspire people.

Having excellent communication skills and experience of partnership and multi-agency working you will work as part of a team to develop employment opportunities for clients.

Having a broad understanding of the barriers our clients will face securing paid employment, you will educate and work with employers to promote good mental health in the workplace.
