Role
The role of Employment Adviser is to provide advice, guidance and 1:1 support for people recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction who require support to move into employment through accessing the new Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Drugs and Alcohol Service.
You will provide support to people with an addiction and who are on a recovery programme, to find and retain paid employment. You will be required to complete a level of employer engagement, working with local employers to match their needs to the abilities of the individual.
You will be working across Gloucestershire based in drug and alcohol recovery team sites, so DBS clearance is required.
Responsibilities
This is what we need you to do:-
- Help individuals to raise their aspirations of employment through vocational profiling and identification of suitable job goals
- Provide individuals with an individual action plan regularly assessing progress against objectives and goals
- Deliver sustainable employment outcomes for individuals with addiction as part of their recovery plan
- Complete action plans and other paperwork to required standard adhering to the requirements of the IPS fidelity model
- Participate in regional and national forums led by IPS Grow
- Manage a caseload of 25 individuals
- Deliver a high level of Information, advice and guidance (IAG)
- Work with local employers and employer-representative organisations to help them understand the benefits of and overcome any resistance to employing people with complex backgrounds.
- Work with local employers to identify potential opportunities within their workforce and then match these opportunities with your caseload ยท Prepare regular reports and case studies for Employment & Skills Hub managers and other stakeholders to demonstrate progress.
The person
- We are seeking someone is confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to build effective relationships with service users, welfare providers, employers, other GCC teams and families and carers.
- You must be customer focused and ideally have knowledge of working with people who have barriers to accessing the labour market, employment policies, procedures and welfare services; including the ability to develop your understanding of local labour-market demographics; enabling you to work with local employers to match their needs to the abilities of individuals.
