We are looking for a positive, proactive and empathetic individual to join Framework as a Senior Employment Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to lead and develop our successful Individual Placement Support service (IPS), where you’ll help us make a difference to the lives of people accessing community drug and alcohol treatment.

IPS is an evidenced-based employment approach that is internationally considered as the most effective approach to supporting people accessing treatment for substance us and mental health to find and sustain work.

This is a dynamic and diverse role will involve managing a team of Employment Specialists, providing supervision, training and role modelling the IPS approach.

Getting into employment is a critical part of a recovery journey. The Senior Employment Specialist will promote employment within services and external agencies, breakdown stigma and create opportunities for our clients in line with their preferences.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage a high-quality service that adheres to the principles of IPS best practice

  • Manage your own caseload by following the IPS approach and moving clients into work
  • Monitor and manage performance of the IPS Employment Specialists – guide them individually on best practice and achieving individual and team job outcome targets
  • Coordinate the work of Employment Specialists in relation to building relationships with employers to effectively access the hidden labour market and external agencies
  • Support the integration of the IPS approach into the substance use treatment service (Nottingham Recovery Network) including attendance at clinical team meetings as an embedded IPS practitioner

The person

  • Highly motivated with a genuine belief that someone affected by drug and/or alcohol dependence can find paid employment
  • Positive mind-set with the ability to motivate, engage and inspire
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a range of people?
  • Basic understanding of the IPS model (full training will be provided)
  • Proven ability to build rapport with people and especially understanding issues for people with affected by substance misuse or similar conditions
