We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall’s most excluded and disadvantaged people. Successful candidates will work as part of the Individual Placement and Support Employment Specialist team.

We have an exciting opportunity working within our IPS team for two IPS Employment Specialists, one in the North and East area of Cornwall, based out of either our Bodmin or Liskeard office and one to cover the West of Cornwall, based out of our Penzance office.
Role
Day to day responsibilities may include supporting your clients with CV writing and interview techniques as well as speaking with potential employers on behalf of your clients. Our IPS team aims to increase the number of people moving into meaningful employment from our drug and alcohol support service. This is an exciting opportunity to help make a real difference to people’s lives. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
Responsibilities
You will be required to cover the West Cornwall area to meet your clients out in the community therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a car is required.
The person
- Experience of recruitment processes and employability skills development
- Substantial experience of helping people facing severe labour market disadvantage to obtain or keep work
- Have a Full UK Driving Licence and assess to a car
- Have the ability to develop relationships with multiple stakeholders, including employers, partner agencies, clients and their family/carer
- Have experience of multi-agency partnership working
- Have sound knowledge of best practice in the provision of addictions and/or employability and employment services
- Knowledge and understanding of issues faced by people in treatment/ recovery in the job market, and in employability and employment services
- Have working knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs
- Be able to lead and motivate others, nurture and encourage clients
- Have strong IT skills – ideally in Google Workspace
- Be organised and excellent time management skills
- Have flexibility to work from different locations in order to deliver the services required and ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
