The Level 3 Certificate in Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a world‑first, NCFE‑accredited qualification for IPS Employment Specialists.

Developed by IPS Grow with the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP), it strengthens high‑quality, high‑fidelity IPS practice and supports people to secure and sustain competitive employment.

What’s the purpose of the qualification?

The qualification formally recognises and professionalises the role of the IPS Employment Specialist. It is designed to:

  • Build confidence and competence across the full IPS journey
  • Strengthen fidelity and consistency of IPS delivery
  • Support workforce development, retention and career pathways

What does the course involve?

  • Level: NCFE Level 3 Certificate (A‑Level equivalent)
  • Duration: Approximately 12–15 months
  • Structure: 6 mandatory units covering the full IPS journey
  • Delivery: Blended learning model, (e-learning, virtual sessions, action learning sets)
  • Assessment: Assignments and professional discussion
